Rectal ozone insufflation is a non-invasive medical procedure involving the introduction of medical-grade ozone gas into the rectum via a soft silicone catheter inserted 5–15 cm into the rectum. This method is used for many systemic health benefits and detoxification. Ozone is rapidly absorbed through the highly vascularized lining of the colon and into the bloodstream.
Ozone rectal insufflation is considered a safe and cost-effective alternative to invasive methods like intravenous ozone therapy. Outside of having your blood treated with ozone, the delivery via absorption of the O3 gas through the intestinal wall, is the most effective way to increase blood oxygen levels.
Ozone rectal insufflation concentration ranges from 10-50 ug/ml
- Volume Ranges from 100ml – 750ml
- It is always recommended to perform this treatment after a bowel movement, or even better after an enema
- Rectal ozone may be administered via an ozone resistant bag which measures 200, 400, or 750ml, or direct from ozone generator for a measured volume. To prevent discomfort, the use of an ozone humidifier/bubbler is used to humidify the ozone prior to insufflation.
